I offer warmth, compassion and understanding to whatever you may bring. By first building a relationship based on developing sufficient trust to let you explore in a way and at a pace that feel manageable.
Because I believe our emotional and physical experiences are connected I may sometimes invite you to notice something in your body to help you feel more settled and connected to your experience. However it is your therapy and for you to determine what feels comfortable for you.
How will we work together?
What is Integrative Psychotherapy?
Integrative Psychotherapy refers to the integration of different theories and approaches in the work. I draw on a therapy model which is relational and developmental. This means I regard the relationship itself as healing and will be interested in how you and I are relating. Underpinning my developmental approach is a belief that early experiences often hold clues to current difficulties.
Otherwise, there is no set path or way of working but rather this is something we will figure out together.
What I might be able to help with?
People come to psychotherapy for many different reasons. They may not even know why they are coming or may come with one idea only to find other things present.
I have experience working with a range of difficulties and issues including:
anxiety, depression and emotional overwhelm
shame and low self-worth
grief and loss
life changes and transitions
relationship difficulties
difficulties with boundaries
experiences of trauma, abuse and exploring our early life
experiences of difference including neurodivergence.
but this is not an exhaustive list and you don’t need to come with a diagnosis or clearly defined problem.
Therapy is about working out what is troubling you, what you might like to be different and creating the space for you to make meaningful change.
