About Me

Qualifications and Professional Registration

I hold an MSc in Integrative Psychotherapy (Level 7) from Sherwood Psychotherapy Training Institute and have completed over 500 hours of supervised clinical practice working across NHS, charitable and private therapy settings.

I am a registered psychotherapist with the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) one of the leading professional bodies for psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors in the UK. Being UKCP registered means I practise within recognised professional and ethical standards and maintain my professional development through ongoing supervision and training which I hope offers you some assurance about my credentials.

Professional Experience

Before becoming a psychotherapist I worked in the creative industries and as a teacher and both experiences shape the person I am in the therapy room. I have also had extensive psychotherapy myself and so have some understanding of what it is like to be a client which I think is important.

Alongside my private practice I work as a Study Skills Tutor and Specialist Mentor supporting students within higher education settings primarily diagnosed with ADHD and ASD. I also deliver mental health training.  These roles inform my understanding of the challenges we experience in education, work and life.

Why I became a therapist?

I became a psychotherapist because I found therapy very helpful. It has helped me navigate periods of difficulty and confusion and facilitated significant change and deepening understanding in my own life. I hope to support others to do something similarly.

Within my practice I adhere to the UKCP code of ethics and regard client autonomy and trust as foundational.  I engage in regular supervision with a UKCP-approved supervisor to not only support ethical practice but to support considering different perspectives and exploring what might be ‘out of sight’ in support of the clients I work with. I attend regular continuing professional development (CPD) to develop my practice.

I am fully insured, and have enhanced, up-to-date, and clear, DBS certificates for working with both adults and children. I am registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) for data protection and details of which are laid out in my privacy policy.
